First edition of new NFPA 770 Standard arrives via USPS August 2020

The NFPA has released the first edition of a new technical standard: NFPA 770 Hybrid (Water and Inert Gas) Fire Extinguishing Systems. The creation process for this standard dates back to 2013 when NFPA’s Standards Council solicited interest in and support for such a standard.

The technical committee was formed and held its first meeting in September of 2016. It followed NFPA’s Standards Development Process as shown in the graphic.

Staff_Anna2019District Governor Erna’s focus on food insecurity and hunger issues continues with a personal touch in this episode of All Around Rotary.

Past-president Shawn Mullen and wife Sharilynn’s daughter, Annastasia, is our guest in her role as Director of Communications for the National Farm to School Network.  She’s passionate about the very issues that DG Erna has brought into focus during her leadership year.  Anna is a graduate of Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska with a double major in religion and communications and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard’s Divinity School.

Fellow Rotarians Peter Teahen and past District 6000 governor, John Ockenfels, are raising awareness for polio eradication by piloting a single engine aircraft all the way around the globe in 51 days!

Only 700 pilots in history have ever achieved this feat.  It all starts on March 24th from the Cedar Rapids, IA airport.  We’re excited to share John’s enthusiasm and passion for flying and eradicating polio on this edition of All-Around Rotary.
