The NFPA has released the first edition of a new technical standard: NFPA 770 Hybrid (Water and Inert Gas) Fire Extinguishing Systems. The creation process for this standard dates back to 2013 when NFPA’s Standards Council solicited interest in and support for such a standard.

The technical committee was formed and held its first meeting in September of 2016. It followed NFPA’s Standards Development Process as shown in the graphic.

Men hang out their signs indicative of their trades: Shoemakers hang out a gigantic shoe; Jewelers a monster watch; and a Dentist hangs out a gold tooth; but up in the mountains of New Hampshire, God almighty has hung out a sign to show that there he makes men (Old Man of the Mountains, Great Profile).
