Facing Cancer: Insights from Mayo Clinic Experts July 18, 2026

My family in person and virtually upon my final radiation treatment.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on my 64th birthday.

My world changed.

Fortunately I had options. So I took advantage of them at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN – the acknowledged gold-standard for cancer care in all the world.

What follows is a 75-minute recording of two interviews I conducted with Mayo Specialists: Urologic Oncologist surgeon, Dr. Paras Shah and Radiation Oncologist Dr. C. Richard Choo along with his nurse practionister, Derek Smeick.

Upon reflection, these intimate and very personal conversations helped me make a most difficult decision.

I offer them freely to other brothers who are fearful, scared sh!tless and confused in hopes that hearing honest, candid, and intimate doctor/patient conversations might give hope and encouragement to a patient and his family considering their options.
